fairies

This photo reminds me of fairy gardens i used to build as a child. i loved imagining tiny worlds for the fairies that they would visit at night, shrouded in magic. Every morning id run outside as soon as i was awake, hopeing to catch a lingering fairy. all i ever saw was tiny worlds i was too big to enter. but i kept checking every morning.

up and back again

up and back again we traipse on the path to where we are heading, forgetting to look around at the alien landscape building around us. head down. foot forward. where have we taken ourselves?

light up

light up light up as if you have a choice. even if you cannot hear my voice, ill be right beside you dear.

waiting. always waiting for you to know.

Carrots

in a small town outside of Paris i visited a farmers market and bought carrots from the lady at this stall. it was a wednesday. today i woke up in Oslo and fought my way through classes, assignments, shopping centres and work to be able to come home and find ten minutes of the peace i felt in that market by writing this blog. today is a wednesday and the lady at that store will have been selling her carrots all day. i wonder what she goes home to.

winter

Walking in prague i couldnt help but think...this could be any time. who else had seen what i saw, what was their life. the entire city was an eery story waiting to be read in every stone that paved the roads

old friends

a new month and new times...yet i find myself looking back on old friends and old months. my truest friend who always comforts and never lies...left behind by many, always cherished by me. film, my old friend... there is an understanding that is lost with digital photos, a subtle, minute understanding that moves a picture from beautiful to extraordinary. you wont find it in your digital manual because film craves more of you than understanding how to operate your camera. it craves you.
